David Fletcher is the father of Emily Fletcher and ex-husband of Carolyn Fletcher. He is introduced in Song of the Unicorns, and looks much like his daughter and ex-wife. He remarried Veronica Morrison, and currently lives with her somewhere near New Mexico.
David seems to be very outgoing and interested in nature and music. It is mentioned he is a scientist but never revealed what his specialty is. Emily recalls times before her parents were divorced when she would jump around the living room, playing her flute, while he played the saxophone. It is also said that he hiked with her and kept a journal naming all the birds they had seen.
David was losely inspired by Doc in Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders.
